Chris Kreider extends contract and what the means to the NY Rangers

Chris Kreider was one, if not the biggest names at the trade deadline. Kreider was set to become a free agent as of July 1st but the Rangers were committed to keeping him around. The team originally wanted to sign him to a 6-year deal but ultimately gave in to a 7-year deal with an annual average of $6.5 million.

The Rangers continue to build for the future. The team still in the playoff hunt in the East; They currently sit four points back of a playoff spot. Kreider has 24 goals and 21 assists in 60 games this season and is on pace to set career highs in both categories. He has had a productive February, posting six goals and five assists in 11 games.


The Rangers are 33-24-4 and are 4 points out of a wild card position. Coming off a 3 game winning streak, the team will take on the NY Islander tomorrow night at 6:00 PM. I’m predicting a 4-3 win, i’ll be placing a 3 game parlay tomorrow
